Great character development, excellent juxtaposition of current narrative with alternating and endearing flashbacks. Guy and girl next door grow up together to be torn apart during a slow but believable apocalypse with multiple layers of danger. Terrific read, complex characters, etc. If there’s a sequel I’d love to read it!
